チェス棋士・アロン・ニムゾヴィッチ

写真左側でチェスをしているのがニムゾヴィッチ（1922年デンマークにて）

ニムゾヴィッチは1886年ロシアのリガで生まれたドイツ系ユダヤ人である。1904年哲学を勉強する

ためにベルリンに行くが、哲学を捨てプロのチェスプレーヤーとしての人生を歩むことになる。1917年

ロシア革命の際に、反ユダヤ主義の迫害を避けるためベルリンを脱出する。その後デンマークの市

民権を獲得し生涯を終えるまでデンマークに留まった。1927年から1931年までの間ではアリョーヒン、

カパブランカに次ぐ世界3番目の強者として知られるが、チェスの著作でも名著「My System」を出した

ことでもその名が知られている。
