元々は３部作に分かれていたものを一冊に
まとめた本書は、６７０ページの分厚さがあ
り、チェスの黎明期から１９３８年迄に指され
た名局の足跡を辿るのになくてはならない
存在である。尚、棋譜は定跡ごとに分類さ
れて収録されている。
